Ford Judo Club Tournament Policy
Ford Judo Club will categorize judo tournaments in to 3 categories
Targeted Tournaments
The club coaches will select tournaments that they feel will help in the development of your children’s judo. The club would like as many persons as possible to attend, we believe this will help in creating a team spirit within the club, with every one supporting one another. This will especially help parents and children that are new to judo Tournaments.
General tournaments
High performance tournaments
As the club becomes more competitive we will include more pre –cadet, cadet and junior ranking events.

Targeted Tournaments
The club coaches will select tournaments that they feel will help in the development of your children’s judo. - Targeted tournaments will be local ,
- For targeted tournaments we would like as many club members as possible to attend, helping to bond parents and children in creating a team spirit.
- Tournament entry will be from the club
- A club coach or coaches will be in attendance
- We would like club members to wear club branded T-shirts. (These will be given away free as part of this year’s club membership renewal.)
- The clubs coaching team will select appropriate tournaments and communicate these to the clubs administration team.
- The club administration team will set the club closing date 2 weeks in advance of the tournament closing date, thus giving time for the club to process the entries.
- Tournament details will be posted on the notice board, and emailed to club members.
- Please read the tournament entry form fully, making yourself aware of any of specific details that may be set by the tournament organisers.
- Tournament entry forms will be on a clip boards at the office window, please compete the required details.
- All entries must be paid for in advance of the club set closing date.
- NO ENTRY FEE PAID , NO ENTRY WILL BE SENT
- You will be issued with a receipt confirming payment of your tournament entry fee.
- The Administration team will inform the club coaches of the persons being entered.
General tournaments
- Entry to be sent off by individual parents or members.
- A club coach hopefully will be in attendance, but it’s not guaranteed.
- Tournaments that might be of interested to club members will be posted in a folder by the office window .
High performance tournaments
As the club becomes more competitive we will include more pre –cadet, cadet and junior ranking events.

- To re-establish ford judo club into the A band nationals and to support our existing club members on their high performance path way.
- To create a competitive squad of players for pre-cadet, cadet & juniors age bands
- To bridge the gap between club level and the GB high performance system.
- To create a “Ford Tournament Squad” something our younger club members strive to be part of
- This is a long term plan that will take a minimum of 2yrs to develop.
