Kelly Staddon level 1 Coach
Kelly Staddon
2nd Dan Started judo age 4 at fords judo club. I was lucky enough to travel around Europe fighting in competitions from a young age with great friends from fords. I also had my coach Bill Taylor, my dad and elder judo friends to look up too whilst I was training which has pushed me into becoming a better person and player. I was junior and senior british champion in the -48kg category in 2014 but unfortunately due to injury couldn't compete in last years event.I moved to the British centre of excellence in 2014 to train full time as part of the Great Britain team. I competed in my first European and world championships in 2015. After returning from my injury in 2015, I have recently had a great opportunity to visit Japan for five weeks by myself and now aim to medal at bigger senior level tournaments this year. My goal is to compete and medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. I am always extremely grateful of my dad, Mark Staddon and mum Karen Staddon for supporting me since I started judo and would recommend anyone interested in starting judo, to start at fords judo club. |
